The power of the new Porsche 911 Carrera S is put to the test on the track. Jeremy has to eat more than his words about the Vauxhall Astra. The Brits take on the Americans and Australians when the Jaguar S Type R goes head to head with the Vauxhall Monaro VXR and Chrysler 300C on a Welsh beach. And the Star In A Reasonably Priced Car is comedian Bill Bailey.

Richard road-tests the new Ford Focus. Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason lends Jeremy his new Ferrari F60 Enzo. Top Gear pits a teenager on a skateboard against the Bowler Wildcat down a grassy track. Jeremy puts some 15-20 year old supercars through their paces. And the Star In A Reasonably Priced Car is pop star and former Spice Girl, Geri Halliwell.

We look at 4x4s to see which really can go off-road. Jeremy takes "off-road" too literally and decides to drive a LandRover Discovery up a Scottish mountain. Richard visits the Rinspeed factory in Switzerland and discovers some very unusual models including the world's first hydrofoil car. And the Star In A Reasonably Priced Car is actress, former model and UK national treasure, Joanna Lumley.

Richard heads for the south of France in the Pagani Zonda roadster. Top Gear gets its hands on steel cable and cranes for a game. Richard and James spend a night in the Smart ForFour. On the test track, there's a clash of the Titans between Jeremy in the Aston Martin Vanquish S and actor-comedian Steve Coogan in the Ferrari 575. Jeremy tests the diesel engine in the Jaguar S-Tyle by driving it as fast as he can around the longest and most terrifying race track in the world. And the Star In A Reasonably Priced Car is Hollywood A-lister Christian Slater.

Jeremy discovers the Toyota Prius has less get-up-and-go than a lethargic teenager. Richard takes a Mustang on a road movie across Lincolnshire. A four-door saloon (the Evo) goes head to head with a Lamborghini. Rock star Roger Daltrey (singer with The Who turned farmer) is the Star In A Reasonably Priced Car, and Top Gear issues its awards for the best and worst cars of 2004.

Who can reach the ski slopes of Verbier in Switzerland first: Jeremy by road in a Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, or Richard and James in a plane? In Lillehammer, there's another contest: who can get down a mountain fastest - James in a Mitsubishi rally car, or Richard in a bobsleigh? Will comedian Eddie Izzard be a contender for the fastest Star In A Reasonably Priced Car?

James drives the controversial new BMW 1 Series hatchback. Richard splashes about in a 25-year-old supercharged Mercedes G-Wagen German Army halftrack. The Fiesta ST is pitted against the Citroen C2, and Jeremy has his face pulled off while driving the Ariel Atom.
