Fun & Thrills with American Flyer Trains

Fun & Thrills with American Flyer Trains

Available to buy
American Flyer was always Avis to Lionel's Hertz. Lionel outsold American Flyer, not because their trains were better, but because their marketing was better. But that doesn't bother the many "Flyer guys" today who run and collect American Flyer trains and who still insist their trains are the best, mainly because Flyer trains ran on two-rail track, just like real trains.

Warren Frost first was an HO modeler then switched to American Flyer and built a highly detailed, 20X22-foot S gauge layout. Mike Kolleseus - pure Gilbert layout plus fabulous scratch-built Erector accessories that you have to see to believe. Mike's concoctions work better than either Lionel's or Flyer's. Ed Fialkowski runs S gauge on three levels with six loops and a kit-built trolley overhead.
