Lamont discovers that the porcelain figure he has bought is worth a great deal of money and decides auctioning off the piece will bring the best price. Fred's actions as a shill backfire, shattering Lamont's chance for freedom...and the statue.

Fred's 65th birthday is anything but happy when his first Social Security check and Lamont's "night on the town" don't meet his expectations.

A funeral march would be appropriate music to match the mood on Lamont's wedding day.

Fred's suspicions about a used-copper salesman are ignored by Lamont, especially after his son checks the metal's going price. But unfortunately for everyone, Fred's instincts prove to be correct. The copper Lamont bought was stolen -- some of it was even from the Sanford's own house.

Lamont and Fred, at Lamont's insistence, take advantage of the free tests offered by a Breathmobile. The results convince Fred that he has tuberculosis. The pair soon discover the results were put in the wrong envelope and it's Lamont who should be concerned about his health.

Fred covers his clumsiness by proclaiming "we were robbed" and he turns into a boastful hero cited for bravery. But Lamont finds the shattered remains of his prized porcelain and glass collection and decides to teach his father a lesson by staging a "robbery" of his own.

Angered by his father's constant interruption of his dates, Lamont moves out to pursue the life of a swinging bachelor. But much to Lamont's disappointment, it's the newly unchaperoned Fred who is besieged by the ladies.

Fred's failure to pay any bills brings threats of turned off utilities and repossessed furniture. But when the collection agents come to take away the furniture, the quick thinking Fred turns a fall into a fast fortune.

Lamont buys two coffins at an auction and is determined to sell them at a large profit. Very superstitious about having coffins in the house, Fred decides to sleep in the back of the truck until they are sold. But what Fred doesn't know is that he's soon to be sharing his sleeping quarters with some unexpected company.

Lamont strongly objects to his father's proposal of marriage to the widow Donna Harris (Lynn Hamilton). Lamont's protestations that no one can take the place of his mother leads to a heated three?way argument and one fiery exit.

Fred tries to wangle a color TV set out of Lamont (Demond Wilson).

Lamont stumbles upon a suitcase full of what he's sure is stolen money and calls the police to come take it away. Not wanting to take any chances, Fred locks the find up in the safe. Unfortunately, Fred's idea doesn't eliminate the risk when the money's "owner" comes to retrieve his loot.

Fred and Donna have reconciled their differences and are once again planning to wed. Fred even gives her an engagement ring to make it official. Lamont, still confident it's ridiculous for Fred to get married, proclaims that "if his father can do it, so can he."

Sanford and son get a free piano from a man whose refined tastes put Fred on edge.
