Das schlaue Füchslein is a work by the Czech composer Leoš Janáček. When it was first performed in Germany, it did not receive much attention. A few years later, Walter Felsenstein, an important 20th century artistic director, staged a new version. He succeeded in bringing out its enormous potential, so much so that it attracted huge audiences and was performed a total of 218 times.
