While filming on the Montserrat mountain range, camera assistant Enric unravels after seeing a news report about Christian pop sensation Stella Maris. At a gathering of UFO believers, he recalls the fateful day his mother, also named Montserrat, wrestled him and his sister Irene away from home.

After turning Enric away, Irene tries to resume her quiet life as a seamstress, only to find a menacing graffiti message at her workplace. While Enric reconnects with their birth father, Irene's mind races back to when her mother met an enigmatic stranger, who later changed their life for the worse.

Enric and Irene's brutal homelife in the 1980s and 1990s is further revealed. Neglected and abused by their mother and her religious boyfriend Pep, the siblings try to maintain a semblance of normalcy for their half sisters. For these captive children, musical films become the only form of escape.

Track after track, the Stella Maris girls continue to go viral, but most of their following make fun of their music videos. Only Enric and Irene know the true dangers behind their much-mocked popularity. The reconciled siblings return to their childhood home, now a hot spot for ravers and squatters.

Enric and Irene grow more concerned about the safety of the Stella Maris girls as Christmas Eve-a traumatic day in their family's history-approaches. Haunted by the disturbing event that led to their separation, they extend their search on all fronts.
