March 1989: two respected chemists from the University of Utah stand in front of a wall of reporters, announcing that they have solved the world's energy problem. Within days Pons and Fleischmann are on the cover of Time; but their fame is fleeting as cold fusion becomes synonymous with bad science. Their careers are ruined, they fled the US. However, 22 years later, people still want to believe.
