Norm Henderson (Norm McDonald), a former pro hockey player banned for life after gambling and tax evasion, avoids prison by serving five years of community service as a social worker. As he fumbles through helping clients, Norm clashes with bureaucracy, leans on coworkers Laurie and Danny, and tries to rebuild his life with chaotic, irreverent charm.
