Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World Season 4

Subaru and his allies manage to repel the Witch Cult's assault, but at a high cost: many remain transformed by Lust's Authority, while others have had their names and memories devoured by Gluttony. At Anastasia's suggestion, the group decides to head for the Pleiades Watchtower in search of a breakthrough. Their goal is to meet with the Sage Shaula, one of Lugunica's Three Heroes.

Joined by Ram, Rem, and Meili, the party ventures into the treacherous Augria Dunes in search of the Pleiades Watchtower. They stop by the town of Mirula and come across a grim warning: for 400 years, not a single soul has reached the tower. The trek is a nightmare. While Meili's Divine Protection keeps the swarming witchbeasts at bay, the group must still endure the windstorms of Sand Time.

Slapped awake by Ram, Subaru finds himself trapped beneath the dunes after his Yin magic warped the surrounding space. Although they reunite with Foxidna and Patrasche, they remain separated from Emilia, Rem, and Beatrice. Through the twins' synesthesia, Ram confirms that the incapacitated Rem is safe, but with no exit in sight, the situation remains dire.

Subaru wakes inside the dragon carriage to news from Beatrice: everyone is safe, and they have reached the Pleiades Watchtower. But his moment of peace is soon interrupted as he is tackled by Shaula, the tower's self-proclaimed "Star Keeper," who calls him "Master." She guides the group to the third floor, Taygeta.

After Subaru sees through the trial's constellation riddle, the third floor transforms from a white void into a massive archive lined with countless bookshelves. Upon touching one of the volumes, Subaru experiences a vivid flashback-a memory of cruelty personified in innocence.

Awaiting the group as the proctor of the second floor is a man in red who calls himself a mere "Stick Swinger." When Julius steps forward to take on the challenge, the man draws nothing more than a pair of wooden chopsticks as his weapon. He dodges the knight's refined swordsmanship with ease, effortlessly trampling Julius's hard-earned techniques.

The injured Julius is taken to the Green Room to recover from his battle with Reid. Subaru and the others attempt to pry hints from Shaula on how to overcome the first Sword Saint, but they don't learn anything useful. After a brief, cheerful meal late into the night, Subaru wakes to find Foxidna standing alone on the balcony.

On his way home from the convenience store, Natsuki Subaru is suddenly transported to another world. The young man is amazed by the fantasy landscape spreading before him, only to realize he has lost all memories of his time since his arrival. It turns out he is in the middle of a trial in a tower, but without cliché of a summoned hero manifesting "cheat" powers, he is told to simply stand by.

Having died twice since losing his memories, Subaru is desperate to flee from the hidden killer and escape the Pleiades Watchtower-a place he now sees as a den of suspicion where no one can be trusted. But his attempt is cut short when a giant sandworm attacks, dragging him beneath the dunes and into a subterranean labyrinth.

After what felt like a brief lapse in consciousness, Subaru is met with a horrific scene: Meili's lifeless body lying before him, and the words "Natsuki Subaru was here" carved into his arm. The sight shakes Subaru to his core. He hides the body and flees the scene, only to find that Beatrice has already discovered a "Book of the Dead" labeled Meili Portroute in the library.

Subaru is caught searching for Meili's missing corpse and finds himself imprisoned in a cage of ice. He desperately pleads that he has amnesia, but Ram remains convinced he is an impostor. The misunderstanding persists, and she knocks him unconscious with wind magic. When Subaru eventually wakes up, he is somehow outside of the cage.

Entrusted, believed in, forgiven, and wished for-embracing the feelings of Emilia and the others, Subaru decides to be the "Natsuki Subaru" his friends think he is. The moment he wakes up from his Return by Death, the very first thing he does is confess to having amnesia. He vows to regain his own memories, restore Rem's, and bring everyone home safely.

Subaru and friends welcome Meili as an ally. They suspect his memory loss was caused by the tower, and decide to prioritize clearing the tests. Their next stop is the library to find Reid's book of the dead and use it as a guide for defeating him. On the way, Subaru exchanges a few words with Julius, who has yet to pick himself back up.

Subaru returns from the Hall of Memories and immediately receives dire news: the witchbeasts of the Augria Dunes have launched an all-out attack on the Watchtower. Leaving the defensive line to Shaula and Meili, Subaru and his friends rendezvous with Ram. She tells them that she encountered the Sin Archbishop of Gluttony, who is locked in battle with a silver-haired woman she doesn't recognize.

No longer confined to the second-floor trial chamber, Reid roams the tower at will after his soul hijacked the body of Roy Alphard, one of the Sin Archbishops of Gluttony. A stampede of witchbeasts, two Sin Archbishops, a giant scorpion, a surging shadow of pitch-black darkness, and Reid Astrea himself.

Subaru keeps dying without finding any solution, and fifteen deaths take a toll on his mind. His companions leave him to recuperate in the archive, where he discovers a book of the dead with the name Natsuki Subaru on it. Engraved inside are the memories of the deaths he forgot-beginning with when he Returned by Death after his stomach was first sliced open.

Subaru and "Subaru" have merged. He reunites with his companions and divides them among the five obstacles threatening the tower for an all-out battle to end this deadly loop once and for all. Subaru, Beatrice, and Meili head off to contain the witchbeast stampede; Emilia races toward the upper floors; Ram waits for Gluttony on the spiral staircase; and Foxidna heads to Julius.

Emilia reaches the first layer, Maia, and finds Volcanica, the Divine Dragon and one of the Three Great Heroes of Lugunica. But as the final test begins, the Dragon only repeats the same words over and over again.
