Kim Yu-mi, a 32-year-old employee at Daehan Noodles' Finance Department, leads an uneventful life. The only thing that excites her and the cells in her head is the handsome, kind, young U-gi from Sales. Yu-mi notices U-gi hanging around her and wonders if it could be the start of something new.

Yu-mi finally gets to go to the flower festival alone with U-gi. But her dream date is interrupted by Ruby, and Yu-mi desperately tries to shake her off. Woo-gi works up the courage to ask Yu-mi a question he's been holding back.

Despite the terrible first impression of Koo Woong, Yu-mi slowly falls for his honest, easygoing charm. Just when things seem to be going well, she stops replying to his texts. Woong wonders why before he jumps to a bizarre conclusion.

Woong rushes Yu-mi to the hospital through the pouring rain, and Yu-mi's heart slowly opens up to him. Meanwhile, as Woong begins dating, his longtime female friend Sae-i finds herself overwhelmed by unexpected feelings.

After finally visiting Yu-mi's home, Yu-mi and Woong share an unforgettable night. At Woong's suggestion, they head off on a trip together. Their ocean-view stay rekindles Yu-mi's long-lost love of travel as well as her Naughty Cell.

Yu-mi attends a friend's pre-wedding gathering. Her friends doubt she has a boyfriend, and Yu-mi promises them she'll bring Woong to the wedding. But with Woong swamped at work, it seems impossible, until an unexpected reason makes attending the wedding a must.

Sae-i's move pushes Yu-mi to her breaking point, triggering the breakup alarm in her Cell Village. If Woong doesn't contact her within 24 hours, it's over. As the clock ticks, Sae-i seizes the chance to drive a wedge between the couple.

Love Cell, while usually flawless, has a weakness. The cells decide to recruit Ruby as her strict tutor. Meanwhile, after noticing Yu-mi's social media posts, Ba-bi surprises her with an unexpected offer that sets her heart racing.

An unplanned decision to live together lets Yu-mi and Woong discover new sides of each other. The more time they spend together, the more Yu-mi, and her cells, fall for him. But does Woong feel the same way?

After Yu-mi proposes to Woong, things turn awkward between them. Later, Woong and Ba-bi unexpectedly share drinks, and a drunken Woong wakes up with no memory of the night. What happened, and why can't he shake his unease?
