During the gala to raise funds for her artificial heart, Vanessa disappears from the hospital. Diego has a hunch about why Cosimo continues to feel unwell. Diego and Rosa grow closer.

As secrets surface, Diego's personal life begins to fracture. Elena and Rosa are brought fact-to-face, and Rocco enjoys a triumphant success.

Diego hatches a plan with Bashir to bring the boss down, but when the plan fails, he is left exposed and in greater danger than ever. Anna and Mino grow even closer.

While Elena waits to marry him at the cathedral, Diego is taken by Cosimo's men and savagely beaten. When Diego's oath to do no harm means that he saves Cosimo once again, despite the beating, it looks like he may earn his freedom.
