Jiro is still working at the pet shop but ends up going on "strike", reverting back to his NEET ways. Everyone around him tells him to keep working, but he refuses. He decides to leave the house with Ichiro. Later, he meets a man by the ocean who decides to give him a job.

Jiro begins work at a beachside cafe owned by Jiromaru, the owner. One day while working, he hears a strange noise coming from the roof. Upon investigation, he finds that the former owner Sachiko is living in the attic! She is determined to shut down the cafe...

Sachiko decides to renovate the cafe into a dog cafe. She tries to convince Jiro to enter the dog area she created, but he doesn't listen. Sachiko can't seem to get Ichiro to warm up to her. It seems that Sachiko has deeper worries than just with how the shop is going. Will Jiro be able to help her?

After his shift at the beachside cafe, Jiro and Sachiko temporarily stay at a millionaire's house. Their mission is to find a ring worth 10 million yen hidden somewhere in the house. Upon arrival to the room he is staying in, he notices that there is evidence of a dog living there in the past

The millionaire's ex-lover Fuyumi returns back to the house and asks Jiro to hide her there. Jiro is against the idea, but Fuyumi offers to tell him where the ring is if he complies.

Jiro finds out that Fuyumi is actually on the run from the police. Fuyumi asks him to run away somewhere with her, but he has no idea where to go. Jiro doesn't want to go anywhere, but Fuyumi ends up taking Jiro and running! He has no choice but to follow...

The next job he was offered was at a normal house. It's an easy job, all he has to do is stay there for three days. However, there is an issue; there is a shut-in who lives on the second floor of the house. Kazunari tries to get her to leave. Jiro decides to just mind his own business by wrapping himself up in a blanket.

Ichiro suddenly goes missing! Unable to find him anywhere, Jiro suspects that Ichiro may have stumbled into Chieko's room. Jiro attempts to persuade her to let Ichiro out but ends up just falling asleep again. Will Chieko ever release Ichiro?

Chieko and Ichiro finish their walk and return home. They return to find Kazunari being questioned by the police. She decides to turn away and avoid them, walking back the direction she came. Later on, she meets up with Jiro, and he asks what she will do from now on. She hands Jiro an old tattered paper with an unknown address on it.

Jiro and Chieko decide to go to the address on the note. The address ends up being in the same neighborhood as Jiro's mother's apartment. Jiro receives a letter from his cousin in regards to Ichiro's brother Saburo. It was this that led Jiro to going on another journey with Ichiro.
