Mark's still struggling to break it off with Sophie when he and Jez join Sophie at her parents' for her birthday. One thing leads to another and a barn burns down.

Alan Johnson puts the pressure on Mark and Jez both, asking Mark to handle a big presentation at JLB, and propositioning Jez to lend him Big Suze for a price.

Mark joins a gym to get time away from Sophie, and lets slip to his trainer that he's not in love with his bride-to-be. While there, he discovers Nancy, Jez's American visa-wife, working there.

Jez becomes a particularly "handy" handyman for his musical idol The Orgazoid. Mark goes to a school reunion and reignites an old crush, despite her being married to Mark's childhood tormentor and his being engaged.

Jez rents a canal boat for Mark's stag weekend, and the two get embroiled with a couple of sisters. Jez is after one of the girls, and Mark is after a job with their dad's company in India.

Jez tries desperately to stop Mark from jumping into the void of a loveless marriage, but Mark's too concerned with being labeled a jilter.
