In Texas, USA, high school counselor Ellie experiences a chilling moment of recognition when she hears her ex-lover Jake's voice in an ISIS propaganda clip broadcasted globally. In Syria, Sarya ascends to a new role, becoming the Commander of her battalion, stepping into the shoes of the late Commander Adar, a significant and challenging transition.

Nisrine, temporarily housed at the YPJ camp, faces Sarya's refusal to recruit her due to her young age. Despite her insistence, Anna avoids giving Nisrine false hope about finding her mother, instead urging her to adapt to their dangerous environment. Their relationship deepens through this shared reality.

After Anna's funeral, Sarya, grappling with despair, reluctantly agrees to recruit more young volunteers for the YPJ. During this process, Sarya returns Nisrine to the refugee camp, intending to leave her there. However, at the camp, Nisrine confronts The Contractor, the man responsible for selling Nisrine and her mother to ISIS.

Ellie boards a flight to Erbil, Iraq, where she encounters Meike, a young Swiss woman. Meanwhile, Jake and Paul are still suspicious about Ellie's possible connections with the FBI and arrange for Jihadists to verify she's not being followed. Their suspicions are confirmed: Ellie is indeed operating under FBI orders, with American agents shadowing her, using her as a pawn to reach Jake.

Ellie adjusts to life in Syria with Jake, but tension arises when she discovers that he has been lying about some of ISIS's atrocities. Sarya tries to persuade Commander Arjin to launch an attack on the ISIS detention camp to rescue the kidnapped women. However, Arjin remains unconvinced due to the high risk and their unpreparedness.

Arjin relieves Sarya of her command role, and decides not to launch another rescue mission for the kidnapped women. This decision prompts a fierce confrontation between Sarya and Nisrine, leading to Nisrine's departure from the YPJ. Nisrine is determined to infiltrate Al-Raqqa, the ISIS capital.

As Max works on an article detailing Anna's connections with the Mossad, he’s being contacted by Anna’s previous Mossad handler. Alerting the Mossad was exactly what Sarya wanted. She offers the Israeli agent to capture Jake, a key financial figure in ISIS, in exchange for their support in the mission to liberate the women's camp.

Nasser masterminds an explosion at an apartment of an ISIS terrorist, who worked at the women’s camp. He cleverly plants evidence framing the killed ISIS member with the bank robbery. The Sheikh, convinced by the ruse, apologizes and returns Nasser’s travel permit.
