Rickover: The Birth of Nuclear Power

Rickover: The Birth of Nuclear Power

Combative, provocative and searingly blunt, Admiral Hyman G. Rickover was a unique American hero. Unafraid to buck the system, he alienated Navy brass in his quest to create the first nuclear-powered submarine, aircraft carrier and power plant. However, few contested that he transformed the Navy, helped win the Cold War and changed the course of America’s technological development.
