Extraordinary Places to Eat

Marrakesh has a rich and exciting food tradition. But in recent years a tourist boom has led to a plethora of places catering for the less adventurous palate. TV chef Andi Oliver won't stand for that. She takes Fred Sirieix to some divine eateries in the city including the spot with the single best lamb dish and a tremendously tasty tagine hidden in the most unlikely of places. A gas station!

Austria's capital Vienna is famous for many things. But food isn't necessarily one of them. This terrible injustice is set to be rectified by food writer Rachel Khoo, whose grandma is Austrian. She indulges Fred Sirieix in strudel fit for an emperor, dumplings that ooze comfort and, of course, lashings of hot sausage. Can she convince Fred that Viennese cuisine deserves more recognition?

Jerk turkey! Not only fun to say, but also delicious to eat. Fred learns its secrets as he joins his old boss and culinary legend Michel Roux Jr during a foodie forage in Bristol. There's also speculation around the world's best mashed potato and an introduction to Himalayan dry-aged beef. The duo also take the plunge and enter one of Britain's oldest, and possibly coldest, outdoor swimming pools.

You'll be salivating at both the food and the breathtaking scenery as Fred takes a culinary tour around one of Britain's most glorious counties: Yorkshire. He's joined by baking queen Nadiya Hussain who is horrified by how Fred handles a scone in a fancy tea room. Once they've been shown the door, they encounter world-class samosas, top notch cheese and fabulous crab dishes.

So what exactly is in a Ploughman's Lunch? In the British Isles, the exact ingredients can be a highly contentious issue. But Fred is about to find out for himself as he visits the beautiful New Forest region of England. He's joined by food expert Chris Bavin and both are soon indulging in some delicious pork pies, jaw-dropping vegetables and some slightly dangerous cycling.
