Bolanle Austen-Peters is a Nigerian film and theatre director, producer, and cultural entrepreneur recognized as a leading force in contemporary African storytelling. Known for her visually compelling and socially resonant work, she has built a strong portfolio spanning both stage and screen, consistently spotlighting Nigerian culture for global audiences. She has directed and produced films including 93 Days, The Bling Lagosians, Collision Course, Man of God, Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti, House of Ga’a, and Wire Wire. Her breakout film, 93 Days, screened at major international festivals such as Toronto, Chicago, and the Pan African Film Festival, and earned 13 AMVCA nominations. Collision Course further established her global presence, screening at Toronto and Durban, winning Best Film (West Africa) at the AMVCAs, and receiving six nominations, including Best Director. Man of God earned nine Africa Movie Academy Award nominations, winning Best Nigerian Film and Best Costume Design, and became a major streaming success on Netflix. Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti won Best Overall Feature Film and Best Screenplay at AFRIFF, as well as Best Writing at the AMVCAs.
