Quentin Lazzarotto
Director, Writer
Quentin was born in the French mountainous region of Jura, very close to the Alps. He started making movies at age 10. Being very fond of his birth place, he made it a recurrent location in his films. With a strong passion also for science, and especially astronomy and mathematics, he directed several documentaries for television and for the big screen. Presenting science in a very artistic way, "The singular story of Einstein and General Relativity" (2015) or "Man Ray and the Shakespearian Equations" (2019) were praised in international festivals. For 6 years he has also been programming and presenting several science shows linking science and cinema, including the famous film-club « Convergent Universes » in the center of Paris. In May 2018, Quentin was selected among young filmmakers to join world-famous director Werner Herzog in the Amazonian Jungle, for a once in a lifetime adventure of film-making with the indigenous inhabitants. There, he made the short film "Carlito se va para siempre" (Carlito leaves forever) which was presented in festivals as prestigious as the Tribeca Film Festival in New York. Quentin's films are all about stories linking Man and Nature, exploring many genres, and he is working on a documentary, "Whispers of the Universe", telling the story of the recent detection of "gravitational waves", allowing astronomers to explore the strangest worlds of the universe, such as Black Holes. He also develops a series of short and feature films set in the Jura, in the 17th century, about the legendary french Judge Henry Boguet, known as the biggest witch-burner in Europe.
