Rosa Leonardi
Actor
Rosa Leonardi was born and raised in Italy and speaks fluent Italian, English, Spanish and German. Thanks to her fascination for cultural diversity and travel, she moved to Australia in 2011, where her adventurous spirit found her teaching, developing her expression as a visual artist and discovering her hidden passion and talent for acting. Rosa uses her artistic skills to find her favorite characters to play through her paintings. She likes to find and explore the souls of "forgotten" people, those who are taken for granted, who aren't necessarily appealing, those who are mentally challenged, whose stories have not been given justice. As a personal challenge, Rosa has also been writing scenes and monologues based on these characters that she is developing into more significant projects. Rosa's acting training includes the Perdekamp Emotional Method, movement, voice, improv-acting skills and sense-memory. She also studied scene and character development at the Whitireia Performance Centre in Wellington, New Zealand, and is working on her accent skills with MaryAnne McCormack. Rosa's most recent theatrical roles have been Detective Ariel in the 2019 adaptation of "The Pillowman" by Martin McDonagh, produced by The Dark Room Theatre Company in Geelong, and her multiple-character performance in "The Laramie Project" by Moises Kaufman, produced by Shepparton Theatre Arts Group, for which she was nominated for the Elaine Tonks Award for Best Support in a Play. Rosa Leonardi is represented by Howell Management in Australia.
