Vicky Araico Casas is a Mexican actress, movement specialist, and performer recognized for her diverse contributions to film, theater, and television. Originally from Mexico City, she holds a law degree from Escuela Libre de Derecho (2001) and pursued formal acting training at Centro Universitario de Teatro, part of Mexico's National University (UNAM). She further advanced her expertise by completing a Master's degree in Movement Studies at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London in 2009. Araico's career spans stage and screen, where she has earned acclaim for her versatility and depth. Her solo show Juana in a Million received multiple honors, including a Fringe First Award at the Edinburgh Festival (2012), Best One-woman Show at the United Solo Festival in New York City (2013), and a Maria Douglas Award for Best Actress in a solo show from the Mexican Association of Theatre Critics (2014). She also garnered a nomination for Best Actress at the Offies Awards in London. On stage, she has performed in productions such as Bucket List at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Oedipus Tears, and Prophecy in the Future Tense at international festivals. In film and television, Araico is known for roles in World War Z (2013), Lost in the Night (2023), and Way of the Monkey's Claw (2012), among others. Her screen work includes appearances in Mexican TV series like Falsa Identidad and No fue mi culpa: México. Beyond acting, she has served as a movement director and coach for various theatrical productions in Mexico and the UK, blending her movement expertise with performance art. Araico's multidisciplinary approach and international training have made her a respected figure in contemporary theater and film, contributing to the cultural dialogue through her performances and movement direction.
